Donald Henry Ford, 87, passed away at 10:37 a.m. at his home on July 2, 2018.

Donald was born on July 6, 1930 in Springfield, IL; son of Delbert L. and Tommy (Irving) Ford. He married Sarah Turner on August 31, 1957 in Elkhart, IL. She survives him.

 

Also surviving Donald are his children: Kevin (Jama) Ford of Sugar Grove, IL and Kelby (Angie) Ford of Elkhart, IL; one brother: Richard (Marie) Ford of Xenia, OH; five grandchildren: Brynn, Ryan, Sam, Lizzie, and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother: Delbert, and two sisters.

 

Donald farmed in the Logan County area for 40 years. He proudly served in United States Navy from 1951-1955 and was a member of the Elkhart American Legion Post #616. He was a member of the Mt. Pulaski Christian Church and loved spending time with his family. 

 

Services for Donald will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 6, 2018 at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church with Casey McCormick and Eddie Bratton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial at Elkhart Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the Elkhart American Legion Post # 616. Memorials may be made in Donald’s name to Mt. Pulaski Christian Church or the American Cancer Society. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
