Lena Eileen ‘Peg’ Kerr, 95, of Monticello, passed away at 5:40 a.m., July 2, 2018, at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

 

Peg was born March 11, 1923, in Argenta, IL the daughter of Troy and Mary (McQuillan) Ross. She married Lowell Edwin Kerr on July 12, 1948, in Nashua, IA. He passed away August 7, 1957.

 

Peg is survived by her sons, Jeff Kerr (Rhonda) of Monticello and Doug Kerr (Suzanne) of Argenta; grandchildren, Adam and Dylan Kerr; and great-grandchildren, Lena, Camdin, and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ervin Ross, and grandson Jeremiah Kerr.

 

Peg was a retired teacher. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Kirby Auxiliary, Women’s Club, and the Retired Teachers Association.

 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta with Pastor Kathy Sweet officiating.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Kirby Medical Center.
