Charles 'Fred' Amdor

Charles Frederick "Fred" Amdor, 77, of Mansfield, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday (June 20, 2018) at his home.
 
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mansfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mansfield United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carle Foundation oncology nursing and support staff education or Mansfield United Methodist Church.
 
Fred was born March 5, 1941, in Champaign, a son of Elwood F. and Mary Maxine Cox Amdor. He married Patricia J. Heiser on April 15, 1972, in Danville. She passed away May 29, 2011.
 
He is survived by his son, Brett (Sandy) Amdor, Ontario, Ore., and brother, Stephen (Donna) Amdor, Surprise, Ariz.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
 
Fred was a farmer. He also had been an electrician for IBEW Local 601, Champaign. Fred had served in the Illinois National Guard, Bloomington, from Nov. 4, 1963, to Nov. 3, 1969.
 
He was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church and Kelso M. Garver American Legion Post 650, Mansfield, and a charter member of Pheasants Forever, Piatt County chapter. He was an avid trap shooter, hunter, and fisherman.
 
Fred was a lifelong Cubs fan. He was also a pilot
