Robert J. 'Rob' Wendland, Jr.

Robert J. ?Rob” Wendland Jr., 84, of Bloomington, formerly of Le Roy, passed away at 3:15 A.M., Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Heartland Health Care Center, Normal.
 
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy. Pastor Eric Swanson will officiate. Private inurnment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, 
Le Roy at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the funeral home.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Le Roy.
 
Mr. Wendland was born October 24, 1933, in Chicago to Robert J. and Irma Kueter Wendland Sr. He married Carole Erickson on December 7, 1957, in Chicago. She survives in Bloomington.
 
He is also survived by his son, David (Lori) Wendland of Dunlap; daughter, Gail (Lowell) Olson of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Jerrick and Kamrie Olson and Jason, Kelli, and Kyle Wendland; brother, Paul (Agnes) Wendland of Le Roy; two nephews and two nieces.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Hamilton.
 
Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from March of 1954 to January of 1956. He retired from Country Companies after 41 years and was the last surviving charter member of the IAA Federal Credit Union.
 
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Le Roy and was a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau for more than 60 years. He was past president of the Le Roy Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
