Shirley Lavone Utterback

Shirley Lavone Utterback, 81, of Clinton, IL passed away at 9:47 PM, June 16, 2018 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.
 
Services will be 10 AM Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. Mary Alice Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Friday, June 22, 2018 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. 
 
Memorials may be directed to the Maroa United Methodist Church Stain Glass Project or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
 
Shirley was born December 20, 1936 in rural Weldon, IL the daughter of Harold and Lavone (Fleming) Helton. 
 
She leaves behind her sons: Chet W. Utterback, Atwood, IL; Curt (Cathy) Utterback, Clinton, IL; daughters: Sally Utterback-Reid, Waterford, MI, ReNae (John) Stewart, Mesquite, NV; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind sister: Linda Numberger, Broken Arrow, OK; brother: Richard Helton, Weldon, IL; brother-in-law: Russell (Jan) Utterback, Clinton, IL; sisters-in-law: Gail Ann Helton, Weldon, IL, Marjorie (Ron) Yeast, Atlanta, IL; Juanita Hartford, Mendota, IL; Lois Staley, Troy, IL along with many nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wayne Utterback; parents: Harold and Lavone (Fleming) Helton; 1 son: Rick Baker; daughter: Gina (Utterback) Walls; sister: Victoria (Helton) Burge; brother: Larry Helton; infant brother: William Helton and infant great grandson: Alexander Scott.
 
Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed the many years of being Wayne’s farming partner and wearing her many hats.
 
Shirley taught Sunday School for many years at the Shiloh Chapel Church. She was also a member of the Maroa United Methodist Church where she was very active. She was also a former Commissioner for the Creek Union Drainage Dist. #1.
 
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Brit Williams and the staff of Liberty Village for the care and compassion that they had given our Mother over the years.
