Dorothea M. Lawson, 93, of Clinton, passed away 10:46 p.m. Thursday (June 14, 2018) at Heritage Health, Normal.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Pastor John Roberson officiating. There will be no visitation. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Children’s Church at the First Baptist Church, Clinton.
Dorothea was born April 29, 1925, in Clinton, the daughter of Oliver Warren and Bessie Mae Ellington Weaver. She married Harold E. “Gene” Lawson July 17, 1948, in Bloomington. He passed away July 25, 2002.
Survivors include her brother, Sherrill (Marge) Weaver, Sun City Center, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight sisters and two brothers.
Dorothea was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton. She had retired from the Duvall County School Board, Jacksonville, Fla., and State Farm Insurance.
Dorothea enjoyed woodworking and making Christmas ornaments.
