Charles James Martin, Sr., 81 of Clinton, IL, passed away 9:20 AM June 10, 2018, at Heartland Health Care Center – Riverview, East Peoria, IL.

 

Masonic services will be 2 PM Saturday, June 16, 2018, followed by religious services with Rev. Randy Myers officiating at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 12 – 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Children’s Hospital of Illinois.

 

Charles was born January 26, 1937, in Charleston, IL the son of Uriel and Wilma (Butler) Martin. He married Sandra Sue Kennedy July 23, 1960, in Clinton, IL. She passed away December 20, 2010.

 

Survivors include his children: Charles J. (Susanne) Martin, Jr., Colorado Springs, CO, Ginger (Mark) Barton, Mapleton, IL; 5 grandchildren: Jason, Jacob, Jesse, Janine, and Jennifer; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Henry Martin, Clinton, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Ronald Martin.

 

Charles retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation after 37 years.
