Jane E. Owens, 87, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 10:20 A.M., Monday, June 11, 2018, at Le Roy Manor, Le Roy, Illinois.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, with Pastor Annie McMillan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the funeral home.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church, Le Roy or the 

Le Roy Emergency Ambulance Service.

 

Mrs. Owens was born March 27, 1931, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Harry Lee and Mildred Evelyn Oliver Roy. She married Gene S. Owens on December 16, 1949, in Le Roy. He passed away January 12, 2012.

 

She is survived by her two sons, David Gene (Bonnie) Owens and Mark William Owens all of Bloomington; one daughter, Deb Owens of Saybrook; four grandchildren, Kate (Bill Klos) Harshman, Kim Harshman, Christopher (Mandy) Owens, and Lindsay (Kevin) Hermann; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judy Atherton of Congerville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harry and Robert Roy and one sister, Dorothy Jean Roy.

 

Jane was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Le Roy. She had worked for Dr. Pliura for 20 plus years and later worked for Dr. Soundar in Le Roy. She had also worked at the Le Roy State Bank and was a partner in Bucksworth House, Le Roy.

 

The family would like to thank the girls at Le Roy Manor and Marvin Williams for their care of Jane during her time at the nursing home.
