James A. Black

James A. Black, 69, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 11:41 P.M., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded.

James was born December 29, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, to Thomas and Mary Davis Black. He married Nancy Jacobs on July 1, 1995, in Arrowsmith, Illinois. She survives in Farmer City, Illinois.
 
He is also survived by his daughters, Lesley (Ben) Harl of Decatur, Illinois, and Carrie (Jimmy) Banks of Decatur, Illinois; stepson, Jacob (Amy) Hale of North Carolina; stepdaughter, Andrea (Jason) High of Arrowsmith, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
 
Jim was a United States Air Force veteran, proudly bringing home our POWs from Vietnam. Jim was a musician, avid Cubs and Bears fan and loved playing baseball.
