Kevin Richards, 67, formerly of Prophetstown and Decatur, passed away in his sleep on June 2nd at his home in Farmer City, Illinois. 

 

Kevin was born in Morrison, Illinois on June 9th, 1950. He graduated from St. Teresa High School in Decatur in 1968 and attended Danville Area Community College.

 

Kevin worked as a produce manager for his father’s grocery store as well as a variety of other jobs. He was an excellent high school, American Legion and Community College baseball player. He was active in organizing, coaching and managing baseball/softball events and leagues in Central Illinois.

 

Kevin is survived by his mother Norene Richards of Farmer City, brothers Randy (Dolores Richards) of Rock Island and Michael (Sandy Mason) of Monticello; 4 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews as well as his loyal lifelong friends Al Jayne and Mike Cunningham. He is preceded in death by his father Glenn Richards.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to Champaign County Humane Society 1911 E Main St, Urbana, IL.
