Binnie Sue Benscoter 78 of Maroa, Il. passed away at 6:50 A.M. May 19, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Il.

 

Services will be 7 PM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with Pastor Steve Needham officiating. Visitation will be 6 – 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Church of the Brethren, Decatur, IL.

 

Binnie was born May 31, 1939, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Paul and Eunice (Bundy) Woods.  She married Billy Joe Benscoter on April 13, 1958, in Las Vegas, NV.  He passed away on January 11, 2012.

 

Survivors include her children:  Crystal (Christopher) Bragg, Mt. Zion, IL; Hugh (Patti) Benscoter, Roswell, GA; Rena Williams, Maroa, IL; and Chad Benscoter, Maroa, IL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Francie Stevens, Paducah, KY.

 

She was preceded by her parents; step-mother, Mildred (Heiser) Woods; 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 son.

 

Binnie was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Decatur, IL.  She was also a member of the Girl Scouts of America and the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
