Robert C. Strange, Sr. 81 of DeLand, Illinois passed away 9:00 PM May 2, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Il.

Robert was born July 13, 1936 in Williamsville, MO the son of John A. and Iva Marie (Meadows) Strange. He married Pauline Grace Dile Oct. 2, 1954 in Corinth, MS. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Strange, DeLand, IL; children, Sherry Strange and David Strange both of DeLand, IL; 1 grandson, Shane Strange; siblings: Clyde (Esther) Strange, Williamsville, MO; Willis (Nancy) Strange, Williamsville, MO; Paul Strange, Morton, IL; Parro (Rita) Strange, Daleville, IN; Lorrine (Lyle) Johnson, Galesburg, IL; Susan (Butch) Perry, Cameron, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Robert, Jr.; and brothers, William and Nathan.

 

Robert was a drywaller, painter, and jack-of-all-trades. He founded the Chapel of Hope Church in DeLand. Robert was a strong Christian advocate. He enjoyed traveling, gospel music, and fishing. Robert was known for his kindness, great advice, and humor.
