Dennis “Butch” Boyd 74 of Clinton, IL passed away 3:56 PM April 29, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

 

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Butch’s life will be 5 – 7 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

 

Memorials may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoption or a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Butch was born July 21, 1943 in Decatur, IL the son of Carl and Lucille (Meador) Boyd. He married Lee Ann Burns in 1965 in Kenney, IL. She passed away December 2, 2013.

 

Survivors include his children: Mike (Pat) Boyd, Sherman, TX and Bonny (Don) Hammer, Clinton, IL; 3 grandchildren: Zack Boyd, Denison, TX, Jordan Hammer, Clinton, IL and Kyle Hammer, Clinton, IL; great granddaughter: Eleanor “Lenny” Eveland; siblings: Diane (Bill) Morse, Kenney, IL and Bill (Steph) Boyd, Clinton, IL. Special dog Buddy, who preceded him in death.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Butch was a 20-year veteran of the Kenney Fire Dept. He enjoyed racing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
