Richard Eugene Underwood 57 of Wapella, Il. passed away 12:37 AM May 1, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Il.

 

Services will be 10 AM, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with Cody Monkman officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wapella, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Friday, May 4, 2018 at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

Richard was born November 19, 1960 in Clinton, IL the son of Charles and Marlene (Laiser) Underwood. Richard married Loritta Chapman October 20, 1979 in Clinton, IL.

 

Survivors include his father, Charles (Marilyn) Underwood, Wapella, IL; mother, Marlene Spray, LeRoy, IL; children: Tori (Justin) Alexander, Bloomington, IL; Kaysi (Ryan) Whitlock, Clinton, IL; Janna (Blake Rasor) Underwood, Clinton, IL; 8 grandchildren: Tinley and Jude Alexander; Ty, Jakobe, and Kraetyn Whitlock; and Mason, Kaybree, and Jayda Rasor; sister: Susie (Bobby) Schaefer, DeWitt, IL; special aunt, Jo Schmidt, Bloomington, IL; 1 nephew, Asa Schaefer, Kenney, IL.

 

Richard worked at R.R. Donnelley in Clinton, IL. He was a Cardinal fan, weather watcher, and enjoyed racing. Richard volunteered at Home Sweet Home for many years.
