Dorothy L. Smock, 70, passed away at 2:33 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at her home.

 

Cremation Rites have been accorded. 

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clinton. 

 

A time of visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

 

Dorothy Louise Gleason was born June 24, 1947, in Godfrey, Ill., the daughter of Basil and Geraldine Craft Gleason.  She first married Gary Jenkins.  Dorothy later married Charles Smock on June 14, 1981.  She was a widow.

 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter: Marla (Jon) Menter of Clinton, step-son Russel (June) Smock of Mulberry Grove, Ill, five grandchildren: James Mendenall and Joseph Menter of Bethany, Ill., Jesse Menter of Chicago, Burgandy (Nick Johnston) Bilyeu and Cheyenne Menter of Clinton; four great-grandchildren: Amelia and Audrey Mendenall of Bethany and Peyton and Nicholas Johnston of Clinton; one brother: Jon Gleason of Carrollton, Ill.; and one sister: Diane Bowman of Godfrey, Ill.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Margaret Alesandrini; one brother: Basil Gleason, Jr.; and her husband, Charles Smock.

 

Memorials may be made to her family or Second Chance for Pets in Clinton.
