Alma Jean Buchholz, 89, of Lincoln passed away at 7:30 a.m. on April 14, 2018 at her residence.

 

Alma was born on November 17, 1928 in Lincoln, IL; the daughter of Paul and Florence (Gallagher) Aderman. Alma was baptized on Easter Sunday, 1942 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1951. She married Harmon Edward Buchholz of New Holland, IL on January 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2003.

 

Alma is survived by her sister-in-law: Lois Smith, Lincoln, IL and her children: Joyce Connor, Hillsboro, IL, Lori Jackson, Springfield, IL, and Bruce (Terrica) Buchholz, Lincoln, IL; seven grandchildren: Jenny (Jason) Erick, North Carolina, Jeremy (Shanna) Connor and Chase (Amber) Connor of Hillsboro, IL, Kelly Hubbard, Springfield, IL, Tera (Nic) Clark, Florence, KY, Blake (Megan) Buchholz, New Holland, IL, and Luke Jackson, Springfield, IL; eleven great grandchildren: Bryce, Brynn, and Brylee Connor, Kaya, Vincent, and Merritt Connor, Tyson, Jace, and Tavin Clark, and Beckett and Baylor Buchholz. Nieces and nephews: Kenny (Kathy) Aderman of Atlanta, IL, Janice (Dale) Coffman of MO, Randy (Linda) Krause of Port Gamble, WA, and Lynde (Bruce) Hays of Rochester, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Don Aderman, and son-in-law: Thomas Connor.

 

Alma enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and caregivers. She was a member of Neighborhood Watch, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church, New Holland Women’s Club, Girl Scouts of New Holland, Lincoln Cancer Board, American Legion Aux 715, Lincoln Emblem Club, American Business Women, National Foundation of Elks Club, and Goodwill for Scouts.

 

Services for Alma will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger David officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) Burial at New Union Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be made in Alma’s name to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lincoln Elks Lodge #914, or New Holland American Legion Auxiliary. Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL.
