Cheryl Dianne Ballenger 60 of Clinton, Illinois passed away peacefully 9:25 PM April 6, 2018, at her family home in Clinton, IL after an extended illness.

 

Private graveside services will be Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Deacon Scott Whitehouse officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cheryl Dianne Ballenger memorial fund c/o DeWitt Saving Bank, Clinton, IL.

 

Cheryl was born April 28, 1957, in Aurora, IL the daughter of Charles and Patricia Sears. She married David Lee Ballenger October 25, 1975, in Clinton, IL. He passed away June 7, 2014.

 

Survivors include her sons: Brian (Ashley) Ballenger, Pottsboro, TX, and Michael Ballenger, Clinton, IL; 4 grandchildren, Breanna, Abbigale, Bryce and Makenna; three siblings: Chuck (Claudia) Sears, Texarkana, Tx, Jeannie Lawson, Clinton, IL and Patricia Sims (Mike Glass), Denison, TX; along with 8 nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Cheryl started her own business at the age of 15 and had fond memories of the Cinnamon Dots baton twirlers. Later she worked in restaurant management development.

 

Cheryl continued to live life to the fullest even after her cancer diagnosis. Some of her favorite memories include vacations to Texas, Florida and a sibling Las Vegas vacation. Her greatest regret is that she will miss watching her grandchildren grow and being a part of their future milestones. 

 

Cheryl will be missed greatly by those she leaves behind and the family has suffered an incredible loss.
