Martha Elizabeth Zimmerman

Martha Elizabeth Zimmerman, 102, of Gibson City, formerly of Colfax and Saybrook passed away at 11:35 P.M., Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Villas of Holly Brook, Gibson City, with her family beside her. She was known to many as Aunt Martha.
 
Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, Illinois, with Pastor Wayne Giermann and Rev. J. Keith Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, Illinois. 
 
Memorials may be made to the Villas of Holly Brook Activity Fund, Gibson City, Illinois, or the Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, Illinois. 
 
Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Saybrook is in charge of arrangements.
 
Martha was born September 23, 1915, at Meadows, Illinois, a daughter of Joseph William & Pearl Lehman Zimmerman.
 
She is survived by her twelve nieces and nephews; thirty-four great-nieces and nephews; forty-six great-great-nieces and nephews; several cousins; brother-in-law, Russell Williams of Bloomington, Illinois; sister-in-law, Pat Zimmerman of Saybrook, Illinois.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Emmett Zimmerman and Paul Zimmerman and three sisters, Edna Williams, Lorene Wilson, and Mildred Wills.
 
Martha was a 1933 graduate of Saybrook Community High School, Saybrook, Illinois. She was a retired secretary. Martha was very active in the Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook, Illinois. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, Saybrook, Illinois, and the 1934 Card Club of Saybrook, Illinois. Martha was known for her baking, handcrafts and crocheting.
