Norma J. Sturgeon, 83, of Beason, IL formerly of Clinton, IL, passed away 12:18 AM March 30, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

 

Graveside services will be 1:30 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL with Rev. Jeff DeLaughter officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Norma J. Sturgeon Memorial Fund.

 

Norma was born November 1, 1934 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Arthur and Elethelene (Moore) Patterson. She married Thomas W. “Shorty” Sturgeon July 14, 1951 in Clinton, IL. He passed away November 20, 2014.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Becky J. Grant, Beason, IL; grandson, Donnie W. Sturgeon, Beason, IL; great grandchildren: Zach Cooley, Decatur, IL, Danielle Sturgeon, Clinton, IL, Billy Sturgeon, Decatur, IL, Ashley Biggs, Clinton, IL and Tyler Biggs, Farmerville, IL; great-great grandchild: Noah Masters, Taylorville, IL.

 

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Loren and Arthur “Butch” Patterson, granddaughter: Donna Jean Biggs, and great granddaughter: Britney Biggs.

 

Norma loved reading, old western movies, going square dancing, skating with her husband, camping and horseback riding. She was member of the DeWitt County Riding Club and was part of the Silver Dollar Rodeo. She was a former corrections office in Decatur, IL.
