John B. Eads

John B. Eads, 81, of Downs, Illinois, passed away at 5:54 P.M., Friday, March 23, 2018, at his residence.
 
A Graveside Service will be at 2:30 P.M., Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Old Town Township, Bloomington, Illinois, with Rev. David Howard, officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Post 454, 1006 E. Lincoln St., Bloomington, Illinois, 61701. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, IL is in charge of arrangements.
 
John was born May 18, 1936, in Cheneys Grove Township, McLean County, IL, a son of Brent M. & Ethel May King Eads. He married Julia Ann Curtis on January 3, 1958, in Bloomington, IL, now having celebrated 60 years of marriage.
 
He is survived by his wife, Julia Eads of Downs; six children, Karen (Rick) Lanhan of Hebron, KY; Kay Miller of Bloomington, IL; Wayne (Debra) Eads of Hanna City, IL; Terri (Jimmy) Collins of Bloomington, IL; Barbara (David) Howard of Bloomington, IL; and Leslie (Christopher) Starkey of Acworth, Georgia; twenty four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; ten siblings, Marilyn Fowler of Grand Rivers, KY; Bob Eades of Danville, IL; Bill (Marnita) Eades of De Funiak Springs, FL; Shirley Baker of Waverly, TN; David (Linda) Eades of Terre Haute, IN; Ronnie (Sheryl) Eades of Dickson, TN; Donna (Jerry) Royster of Kansas City, MO; Jerry (Glenda) Eades of Indianapolis, IN; Ricky Eades of Pence, IN; and Brenda (Randy) Wimberly of Camden, TN.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Bradley Eads; one grandson; one granddaughter; and two brothers, Kenny Eades and Paul “Skeeter” Eades.
 
John was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 197, Bloomington, IL. John served in the Army and Navy. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. John was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 454, Bloomington, IL.
