Edith Marie Eden, 102, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 12:32 P.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

 

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, Illinois, with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in the Restland Cemetery, Mendota, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Farmer City United Methodist Church.

 

Edith was born May 19, 1915, in Dixon, Illinois, a daughter of E. F. William and Emily Forster Luke. She married Chester O. Eden on May 5, 1937, in Harmon, Illinois. He passed away June 29, 1979.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara J. Clark of Farmer City, Illinois and Betty J. (Charles) Gilmore of Aurora, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jill (John) Flodstrom, Tammy Coburn, Trina Schaschwary, Teresa Jordan, and Tracie (Whitson) Morgan; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.

 

Edith attended business college in Dixon, Illinois, studying bookkeeping. She was a member of the Farmer City United Methodist Church.
