James Lee Finfrock 72 of Waynesville, Il. passed away 4:33 PM March 23, 2018, at his family residence.

 

A time to celebrate Jim’s life will be 2 – 4 PM Monday, March 26, 2018, at Jim and Carolyn’s home, 1285 Kickapoo Rd., Waynesville, Il. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. is in charge of arrangements. 

Memorials may be directed to Waynesville Fire Dept. or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 

Jim was born July 13, 1945, in Bloomington, Il. the son of Charles J. and Doris E. (Sympson) Finfrock. He married Carolyn S. Green August 5, 1966, in Clinton, Il.

 

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Finfrock, Waynesville, Il.; Children, Rebecca (Nic) Ciarcia, Tampa, FL; Amanda (Adam) Reid, Washington, IL; James C. (Becky) Finfrock, Waynesville, Il.; Shelly (Nick) Gardner, Melbourne, FL; 5 Grandchildren, Lola; Kennedy; Tegan; Chaplin and Carl; Sister, Carol (Jerry) Spaulding, McLean, Il; Brother, Larry Finfrock, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Jim was preceded in death by his Parents.

 

Jim was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church and the Waynesville American Legion. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. He farmed all of his life. While many people spend their final days evaluating their regrets and should haves, Jim spent his surrounded by family and friends discussing all he had done or what they had seen him do. These actions and activities which only enriched the lives of others were wonderful to reminiscence on and hearing the laughter and love of those around him, especially his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends have truly been a blessing. 

 

Being a grandfather was truly Jim's calling, and his family was so blessed to see him blossom into an amazing part of his grandchildren's lives and a person that no one could ever replace in their young hearts and memories.

 

He taught his children the importance of marrying a true partner in your life. Someone to challenge you, support you, and to love so fiercely and unconditionally that you weather the storms of life with confidence that you will be okay because you have your family.

 

And last of all and most important the more hats you wear in life: son, brother, friend, husband, father, and grandfather, that your burden isn't greater.in fact instead that your shoulders become lighter, your heart even bigger, and your smile all that much more frequent because you are loved and love even more.
