Darrel D. Corrington, 90, of Decatur, IL passed away at 10:25 PM, Monday, March 12, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Il.

 

Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Maroa Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

Darrel was born February 2, 1928, in New Berlin, IL the son of Paul and Genevieve (Reinbach) Corrington. He married Paula B. Bowman February 3, 1950, in Decatur, IL. She passed away June 21, 2003.

 

Survivors include his sons: Darrel Corrington, Decatur, Il; Matt Corrington, Decatur, IL; and Jack Meeks, Decatur, IL; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Paul Corrington, Denver, CO.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 1 brother.

 

Darrel was a WW II veteran and was a retired sheet metal worker. He was “one hell-of-a-dad” and “He was our hero.”
