William F. 'Bill' Maxwell

William F. 'Bill' Maxwell, 88, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 9:27 P.M., Sunday, March 4, 2018, at his residence.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Farmer City, with Father James P. Henning O.F.M., Conv. officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main St., Farmer City, Illinois. A Rosary Service will be at 3:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Farmer City, with Military Rites accorded. 
 
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
 
Bill was born September 27, 1929, in Santa Anna Township, DeWitt County, Illinois, a son of Floyd & Bertha Duffner Maxwell. He married Marilyn June Walker on April 24, 1954, in Farmer City, Illinois. She passed away July 20, 2009.
 
He is survived by four sons, David (Sandra) Maxwell of Farmer City, Illinois; Tom (Kimberly) Maxwell of Farmer City, Illinois; Doug (Cindy) Maxwell of Mahomet, Illinois; Philip Maxwell of Ocean Ridge, Florida; seven grandchildren, Wyatt Maxwell, Timothy Maxwell, Blake Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell, Connor Maxwell, Katelyn Maxwell, Claire Maxwell; and one great-grandson, Aiden Maxwell.
 
Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Maxwell; parents; siblings, Mary Rose McCartney, Dorothy Baumgart, Jack Maxwell, and Joanie Witt.
 
Bill was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was owner and operator of Walker Tire and Exhaust in Farmer City from 1955 until present. Bill was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmer City and life member of Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City, Illinois. He was also a charter member of Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190 of Farmer City, Illinois.
 
The family would like to give a special Thank You to all of Bill's caregivers. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
