Frederick A. Dodson, 63, of Le Roy passed away at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 22, 2018) at his home in Le Roy.

 

A memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics.

 

Mr. Dodson was born March 13, 1954, in Bloomington, to Wallace Wilfred and Dolores Joan Gilbert Dodson. He married Jill K. Hart on May 31, 1995, in Le Roy. She survives in Le Roy.

 

Also surviving are two sons, James L. (Joyce) Dodson of Rantoul and Brent L. Bounds; three daughters, Pleshatte M. Dodson of Bloomington, Brandy N. (Nathan) Hays of Saybrook and Stormy B. ("Skippy" T.J. Helt) Dodson of Le Roy; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wallace D. Dodson and Mike Dodson; and one sister, Michelle Dodson of Downs.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

 

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 55, Farmer City, a past Le Roy City Council member, and a member of the Bloomington Jaycees. He had been active in youth bowling and Special Olympics.
