Billy R. "Uncle Bill" Meadows 84 of Kenney, IL passed away 5:30 PM February 25, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

 

Services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Baptist Cemetery, Kenney, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 5 - 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Kenney Fire Department or the Kenney Heritage Association.

 

Billy was born December 22, 1933, in DeWitt County, IL the son of Earl and LeMira (Luckenbill) Meadows.

 

Survivors include his brother: Richard (Karen) Meadows, Kenney, IL; sisters: Beverly (Harold) Palmer, Kenney, IL, Dorothy Sparrow, Kenney, IL, and Marge (Larry) Cooper, Clinton, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Robert, 4 sisters: Mary Cox, Lola Daily, Ruth Taylor, and Rose Burgess.

 

Billy was an ironworker for J.L. Simmons in Decatur, IL and helped on many farms in the area. He was also a U.S. Army veteran and a volunteer fireman for the Kenney Fire Department for over 40 years.
