Marvin E. Nelson, 79, of Rural Bellflower, Illinois, passed away at 3:02 P.M., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

 

A Memorial Service will be at 4:30 P.M., Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Osman with Pastor Jeffrey McPike officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund. 

 

Marvin was born April 28, 1938, in Bellflower, Illinois, a son of Eugene T. and Mary Bunney Nelson. He married Joanne L. Schuldt on February 6, 1960, in Anchor, Illinois. She passed away on March 11, 2014.

 

He is survived by his children, Kenneth L. (Tama) Nelson of Hudson, Illinois and Mary B. (Chris) Duncan of Farmer City, Illinois; three grandchildren, Joanna Van Scoyoc; Hannah Marie Duncan; Tyler Duncan. Preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, parents, daughter, Karla Van Scoyoc, granddaughter, Amanda Jo Van Scoyoc and sister, Helen Jean Oliver.

 

Marvin was a farmer. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Osman.
