Etta Yvonne “Bonnie” (Rhoades) Esry, 88, of Kenney, Illinois passed away 8:15 P.M. February 17, 2018, at Farmer City Rehab, Farmer City, IL.

 

Services will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 P.M., Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

 

Bonnie was born December 29, 1929, in Jasper County, IL the daughter of Owen A. and Julia Etta (Guess) Manning. She was raised by her step-father, Charles “Chuck” Woodard. She married Raymond T. Rhoades September 27, 1947, in Henderson County, KY. He passed away June 11, 1984. She later married Hank Esry and then Russell Esry.

 

Survivors include her daughter: Julia Rhoades (Glenn Conard), Clinton, IL; sons: Terry (Debbie) Rhoades, Kenney, IL, Donnie Rhoades, Clinton, IL, Ronnie (Joan) Rhoades, Kenney, IL; special niece: Kim (Brian) Vinson, Lynn Creek, MO; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son: Raymond Lee; sister: Pauline and 3 brothers: Junior, Bob, and Marion.

 

Bonnie was a member of the Kenney Christian Church. She loved to cook, especially making soft pies for the Kenney Fire Department. She also enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family.
