Susie Jennings, 65, of Bement, IL., passed away at 5:47 P.M., on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, E.R., Urbana, IL.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the St. Michael's Catholic Church, Bement. The Rev. Fr. Bruce Lopez will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hinds Funeral Home, 348 N. Piatt St., Bement, IL. Per Susie's wishes after the Mass on Tuesday cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Scleroderma Foundation.

 

Susie was born on December 26, 1952 in Sullivan, IN., a daughter of Don and Barbara DeKalb Wood. She married Scott Jennings on June 14, 2005 and he survives of Bement, IL., also surviving is a daughter; Megan (Brian) Kerls of Parker, CO., son; Brendan Wood of Denver, CO., 2 step-daughters; Sarah (Blake) West of Maroa, IL., and Amy (Ryan) Snow of Mahomet, IL., grandchildren; Lyla & Jonathan Kerls, Adelyn & Parker West, and Dylan Snow. Also surviving is her mother; Barbara Wood of Montgomery, TX., brother; Mike Wood of Montgomery, TX., sister; Cathy (Cal) Roth of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., and nephew; Blaise Roth of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her father; Don Wood.

 

Susie adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she could. She loved visiting her family in Colorado, and also loved visiting Texas to spend time with her family there. She found joy in singing with the choir at St. Philomena's Catholic Church in Monticello., and she was passionate about gardening & birdwatching in her own backyard. She never missed an opportunity to help someone, and will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to know and love her.
