Barney "Butch” Hildebrandt, 61, of Athens passed away on February 6, 2018, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. 

 

Butch was born July 26, 1956, in Lincoln, the Son of Bernard "Barney” and Mary (Rankin) Hildebrandt. He married Roberta "Bert” Zumwalt on August 7, 1976, in Emden, IL. She survives in Athens, IL.

 

Butch is also survived by his sister, Deborah (Hildebrandt) Skelton; his brother, Wayne Hildebrandt; and his brother-in-law, Larry (Cathy) Zumwalt. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Rhonda Hildebrandt.

 

Butch was a long time member of The First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, IL.

 

Services for Butch will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at The First United Methodist Church in Lincoln. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home Lincoln. With an additional hour visitation prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place after the service at Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Butch’s name to Logan County Relay for Life Team Faith, Hope, and Love or The First United Methodist Church.
