Dona Ann McCartney Hooser

Dona Ann McCartney Hooser, 78, of Mahomet, Illinois, formerly of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 8:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana, Illinois.
 
Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, 106 N. Main St., Farmer City, Illinois, with Rev. Deborah Slack and Dick Sprague officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 29, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mahomet Lions Club, Leader Dogs for the Blind.
 
Dona Ann was born July 8, 1939, in Farmer City, Illinois, a daughter of Earl Donald & Harriett Lucille Newberry McCartney. She married Edward E. “Bud” Hooser on September 6, 1960, in Monticello, Illinois.
 
She is survived by her husband, Edward E. “Bud” Hooser of Mahomet, Illinois; two daughters, Tamara (John) Bronkema of Bells, Texas and Lisa Jo Hooser of Mahomet, Illinois; four grandchildren, Dustin (Brandy) Bronkema, Amanda (Michael) Leonard, Sierra Washington, and T. J. Washington; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; and sister, JoNell (Dan) Dolbert of Farmer City, Illinois.
 
Dona Ann had been a bookkeeper for Franks Jewelry Store and Spritz Jewelry Store in Champaign, Illinois. She was a member of the Farmer City United Methodist, Farmer City, Illinois, and the American Legion Post 1015 Auxiliary, Mahomet, Illinois.
 
Dona Ann was a recipient of a Leader Dog for the Blind.
