Eugene Geyer, 93, passed away at 9:03 a.m., Jan. 10, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

 

Gene was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Mt. Pulaski, Ill., son of John and Bertha (Krueger) Geyer. He married Mildred Lucille "Lucy” Etter on Mar. 23, 1957, in Springfield, Ill. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2016.

 

Surviving Gene are his children: Connie (Kevin) Leonard of San Antonio, Texas, Jean Ann (Mike) Miller of Lincoln, Ill., and Barbara (Mike) Morris of Mt. Pulaski, Ill.; four grandchildren: Kate Miller, and Samantha, Wyatt, and Hayden Morris. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

 

Gene was a retired farmer in the Mt. Pulaski area. He also loved to travel; especially to Branson, MO.

 

A private family graveside service will be held on a later date at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski. Memorials may be made in Gene's name to The Christian Village or Latham Fire and Rescue.
