Jon C. Hilty, 78, of Farmer City, IL passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at his home. 

 

Jon was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 11, 1939, to the late Wayne Woodrow and Phyllis Alene (Campbell) Hilty. He attended Thomas Carr Howe High School Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. Throughout his career he worked for Purdue Farms, ABS in DeForest, WI, Johnson & Johnson Co, ADI in Carmel, IN and retired from American Cyanamid in October 1996. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and loved to travel. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and loved by all who knew him.

 

On November 17, 1961, he married Wanda Bowen. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Julie (Greg) Lutz of Fort Wayne, IN, Jon Scott Hilty of Chicago, IL and Nicole (Bryce) Warren of Edwards, IL; two grandchildren, Jessica (Samuel) Rollins, Kyle Lutz; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Jayden and Levi Rollins of Fort Wayne, IN; and a sister, Hedy Baker of Mt. Pleasant, SC. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Pamela Bowen Hauser; brother-in-law, Michael Baker. Jon attended Farmer City United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, and friends. 

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Farmer City United Methodist Church, 101 S. William St., Farmer City, IL 61842 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 pm.

 

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Farmer City United Methodist Church or Carle Hospice Memorial Fund.
