Cora Stella Builta

Cora Stella Builta, 98, of Ellsworth, Illinois, passed away at 3:51 P.M., Monday, January 8, 2018, at Heartland Health Care Center, Normal, Illinois.
 
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Saybrook Christian Church, Saybrook, Illinois with Pastor Stacy Landry officiating. Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saybrook Christian Church, Saybrook, Illinois.
 
Cora was born October 27, 1919, in Ellsworth, Illinois, to Edward Perry and Viola Phelps Taylor. She married Lincoln B. “Abe” Builta on January 3, 1942, at the Clinton Christian Church, Clinton, Illinois. He passed away January 22, 2002.
 
Cora is survived by her twin sister, Nora Della Taylor Builta of Ellsworth, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Mariam Moberly of Rockwall, Texas and Phyllis Hudson of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Don (Connie) Builta of Clinton, Illinois, Richard Builta of Farmer City, Illinois, Karen (Dave) Barron of Ellsworth, Illinois, and Cheryl Wyatt of Bloomington, Illinois, and their families.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Taylor Wells; brother, Eugene “Dick” Taylor, three infant sisters, Amanda, Layla and Reccia Taylor; five brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
 
Cora graduated from Saybrook High School. She farmed alongside her husband for 42 years. She was a Dawson Township Assessor, a member of the Saybrook Christian Church, loved fishing and taking walks with her husband, and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
 
Cora thought the world of her family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was well-known for her red hats and was happiest when she was helping others.
 
Cora’s family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Heartland Health Care Center for their kindness and love shown to her.
