Velma N. Kennedy 93 of Clinton, IL passed away 1:15 PM January 9, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

 

Services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 2 – 4 P.M. Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or American Heart Association. 

 

Velma was born June 21, 1924, in Bismarck, ND the daughter of James Henry and Grace (Geiser) Anunson. She married Wesley C. Hall December of 1939 in Steel, ND. She married Edward Barkley June 30, 1952. He passed away in November of 1964. She later married Robert “Rocky” Kennedy June 28, 1967. He passed away August of 1992.

 

Survivors include her son: Lean (LaVonne) Wedar, Minot, ND; sister: Edith Port, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Lori (Shawn) Sanford, Lyn (Melissa) Wedar, Staci (Rob) Cheshire, Stephanie (Jeff) Ferner, John (Peggy) Barkley, Laurie Jo (Lyle) Burnett, Leanne (Michael) Anzalone; 13 great-grandchildren; special friends: Sharon (Paul) Dunakey, Karen (Dick) Meadows, Laurie Birk, and Connie Hantla.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Gary Pederson, 1 brother, and 4 sisters.

 

Velma had retired from the dietary department at the Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton, IL. She loved to play bingo, crochet, work puzzles and bake. She especially enjoyed giving away her baked goods.
