Doris LeGrand, 98, formerly of Emden passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, IL.

 

Doris was born on August 22, 1919, in Logan County, IL; daughter of William and Molly (Arnold) Struebing. She married John LeGrand in 1945. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Doris is survived by her daughters: Marcia (Michael "Creg”) Mrakava of Springfield, IL and Peggy Bright of Moweaqua, IL; four grandchildren: John Bright, Dean Bright, Jason (April) Mrakava, and Tori (Jay) Akcay; four great-grandchildren: Connor Bright, Joe Bright, Ela Akcay, and Maya Akcay. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Stanley and Robert Struebing.

 

Services for Doris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden, IL with Rev. John Schurter officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00-11: 00 a.m.) also at the church. Burial will follow services at Hartsburg Union Cemetery in Hartsburg, IL. Memorial donations may be made in Doris’ name to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Donor’s Choice. Services have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
