June Elizabeth Rockwell, 97, of Mt. Pulaski, IL passed away at 4:23 A.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. 

 

June was born on June 8, 1920, in Mt. Pulaski, IL to John and Ruth (Von Lobberecht) Bender. She married Russell Rockwell on September 10, 1941, in Mt. Pulaski. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1984.

 

Surviving are five children, Gene (Donnie) Rockwell of Pickens, SC, Jana Goodman of Louisville, KY, Dennis (Cathleen) Rockwell of Harvel, IL, Nancy (Danny) Boyd of Linn Creek, MO, and Cathie (Jim) Sutton of Mt. Pulaski, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters. June was a homemaker and worked for the Glass Factory in Lincoln for 19 years. She was a member of the Mt. Pulaski Historical Society and loved to read.

 

Services for June will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M. prior to services. Burial will follow at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pulaski EMS.
