James Larry Andrews, 69, of Clinton, IL passed away at 11:30 AM, November 28, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. 

 

Graveside Services will be 11 AM Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Rev. Fr. James Henning officiating, with Military Honors. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements. 

 

Memorials may be directed to Angel Tree or Second Chance Pet Adoption. 

 

Larry was born March 24, 1948, in Clinton, IL the son of William H. and Florence A. (Keatley) Andrews. 

 

Survivors include his children: Leslie Andrews, Clinton, IL; Daniel (Keri) Andrews, Gibson City, IL; and Thomas Andrews, Carmichael, CA; 3 grandchildren: Kaleb Volker-USAF, Charleston, SC; Abbey (Colton) Nixon, Clinton, IL; and Jack Andrews, Gibson City, IL; Siblings: William G. (Phyllis) Andrews, Bloomington, IL; and Jane (Jered) Hooker, Clinton, IL; and former son-in-law: Keith Volker, Clinton, IL. 

 

Larry married Cynthia L. Armstrong on March 20, 1971, in Clinton, IL. 

 

He was preceded by his parents. 

 

Larry bravely served his Country during the Vietnam War in the US Marine Corps. from 1968-1970. He worked for Illinois Central Gulf, Southern Pacific, and retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events.
