Wanda C. Burton 88 of Heyworth, Illinois passed away 5:55 PM December 2, 2017, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Il.

 

Services will be 1 PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Illinois with Rev. Darrel Arndell officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, IL. Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Wanda was born November 22, 1929, in Willow Branch Township in Piatt Co., IL the daughter of Victor J.. T. and Mattie C. (Dalton) Burton. She married Vernon M. Burton August 18, 1945, in Nancy, KY. He passed away February 16, 1979.

 

Survivors include her three daughters: Barbara Ryburn (Tom) Carr, Oxford, FL; Betty (Darrel) Arndell, Litchfield, KY; and Lynn (Doug) Necessary, Clinton, IL; 7 Grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, 1 great-grandson, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers.

 

Wanda retired from Jackson Heights Nursing Home at the age of 75.  She loved working in her garden and flowers.  Wanda loved baking Christmas cookies, banana bread, and other sweet treats for her family.
