Dean Edward Skelton, 67, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on November 23, 2017, at Heritage Health in Springfield, IL.

 

Dean was born on January 1, 1950, in Springfield, IL; son of Burt and Edith Marie (Allen) Skelton. He married Joyce A. Gurnsey on June 8, 1977, in Middletown, IL. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2015.

 

Surviving Dean are his mother; two children: Adam (Catherine) Skelton of Chatham, IL and Michelle (Jeff) Killion of Elkhart, IL; six grandchildren: Austin, Brayden, Cadence, Hayden, Camrynn, and Graedy; three sisters; one brother.

 

Dean was a United States Army Veteran and was a member of the Middletown American Legion Post #594.

 

Services for Dean will be 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL with Mark Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017, also at the funeral home. Burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the Lincoln American Legion Post# 263. Memorials may be made in Dean’s name to Heritage Health Hospice in Springfield, IL.
