Dixie J. Montgomery 80 of Clinton, IL passed away 5:05 A.M. October 22, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

 

Services will be 1 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the First Christian Church, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson and Scott Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 10 A.M. – 1 P.M. Saturday at the church. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church or Texas Christian Church.

 

Dixie was born July 27, 1937, in Clinton, IL the daughter of Charles A. and Bette (Adams) Anderson. She married Gregory Montgomery March 2, 1957, in Clinton, Il.

 

Survivors include her husband: Gregory Montgomery, Clinton, IL; children: Mark Montgomery,  Bloomington, IL; Sterling (Stephanie) Montgomery, Catlin, IL; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother: Charles “Chick” Anderson, Boise, ID, and sister: Jill Ann Zollman, Evansville, IN.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Dixie retired from Eureka Company in Bloomington, IL. She was the organist at the First Christian Church in Clinton for over 60 years and played for countless weddings and funerals.

 

She loved to crochet and sing in the choir. She was very dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
