Arvilla Mae Simpson, 81, of Farmer City, IL, passed away at 11:18 A.M., Saturday, October 21, 2017, at her residence.
 
Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 27, 2017, at Trinity Community Fellowship, Farmer City, IL, with Pastor Dave Ashby officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Trinity Community Fellowship, Farmer City, IL. Memorials may be made to Trinity Community Fellowship Vision Fund, Farmer City, IL. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City in charge of arrangements.
 
Arvilla was born on December 4, 1935, in Clinton, IL, a daughter of Scott L. & Eunice Irene Wilson Dawson. She married Charles O. Simpson on April 26, 1958, in Fullerton, IL. He passed away, March 14, 1996.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Rose (Edward) Potter of Farmer City, IL; six grandchildren, Jameson Potter; Calen Potter; Benjamin Potter; Sierra Potter; Erika Potter; Alexandra Potter; four sister-in-laws, Shirley Dawson of Oreana, IL; Martha Keeney of Danvers, IL; Carol Hanna of Bloomington, IN; Nancy (Roger) Thorp of Des Moines, IA; several nieces and nephews.
 
Preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. Simpson; parents, and four brothers, Wayne Dawson, Raymond Dawson, Lyle Dawson, and Carl Dawson.
 
Arvilla was a farmer. She was a member of Trinity Community Fellowship; former member of Fullerton Cumberland Presbyterian Church; member and Past President of Farmer City American Legion Unit 55 Auxiliary and a Past President of the 19th District Auxiliary; member of 40 & 8 Auxiliary; Hobby Club, Farmer City; Shakespeare Club, Farmer City; Red Hat Society, Farmer City; and the DeWitt County Farm Bureau.
