William Ray Martin 96 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 3:15 PM October 18, 2017, at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 11 AM, Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Monday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, Clinton, IL.

 

Ray was born July 30, 1921, in Wapella Township, DeWitt County, IL the son of Clarence and Myrtle (Taylor) Martin.

 

Surviving is his special companion of 34 years, Betty Jean Clark, Clinton, IL; Betty’s daughters and granddaughter whom he treated as his own, Deanna (Mike) Spencer, Clinton, IL; Londa Dunlap, Bloomington, IL; Stevi Lee Dunlap. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

 

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother, and 2 Sisters.

 

Ray was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton, Il. He served his country proudly during WW II in the Army. He had retired from the Clinton School District as a bus mechanic. He enjoyed his family and traveling with Betty.
