William C. "Bill" Millhorn, Jr.

William C. “Bill” Millhorn, Jr., of Argenta, IL passed away 11:30 A.M. September 13, 2017 at his home in Argenta, IL.
 
Services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Calvert Funeral Home, Argenta, IL with Pastor Bob Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 10 – 11 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
 
Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project.
 
Bill was born March 7, 1933 in Argenta, IL the son of William C. and Dottie L. (Harrington) Millhorn, Sr. He married Erma M. Arnold March 31, 1957 in Decatur, IL; she passed away October 27, 2010.
 
Survivors include one sister and a nephew.
 
Bill was a1952 graduate from the Argenta Community High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served as Friends Creek Auditor from 1961 to 1969 and through the years worked as a bookkeeper for a local grain company. He had also worked at Revere Copper & Brass Inc., the Laborer’s Local #362 in Bloomington, IL and one of ADM’s sub-contractors.
 
He enjoyed history, especially the civil war period, the Illinois National Guard history and the Illinois Native American history. At present, he was serving as volunteer historian for the 66th Brigade, Illinois Army National Guard with Commission of Brigadier General in the Illinois State Militia. On several occasions, Bill and his wife had displayed an extensive military insignia and patch collection in an effort to promote the US Armed Forces.
