Jimmy Bratcher

Jimmy Glenn Bratcher, 69, of Heyworth, formerly of Lexington, passed away at 11 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 31, 2017) at Heartland Healthcare, Normal.
 
A celebration of life gathering will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 18884 U.S. 150, Bloomington, IL 61704. Remembrances will be shared at 5 p.m., followed by light refreshments. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
 
Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
 
He was born June 2, 1948, in Bloomington, a son of Oscar and Maedell Barrett Bratcher. He was married to Beverly Cooperider.
 
Surviving are four children, Justin (Tonya) Bratcher, Lexington; Preston Bratcher, Arvada, Colo.; Lyndsey (Troy) Thorne, Bloomington; and Krystina Bratcher, Lexington; three grandchildren, Emilee, Brynnlee and Logan Bratcher; his mother, Maedell Bratcher, Normal; three siblings, Jo Sherrill, Bloomington; Jack (Carol) Bratcher, Joliet; and Cathy Crow, Heyworth; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Kenny Crow and Steve Bratcher; and a niece, Kelly Darnell.
 
Jimmy was a tool-and-die maker by trade and was a talented handyman. He enjoyed Westerns (especially John Wayne), boating, fishing and time spent outdoors walking his dogs. He was active in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jimmy will be remembered for his ability to make quick friends with anyone and his love of conversation.
