Harold O. Heacock

Harold O. Heacock, 86, of Arrowsmith, Illinois, passed away at 3:45 P.M., Monday, August 21, 2017 at home.
 
Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, Illinois. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Arrowsmith Christian Church or Clinton First Church of the Nazarene.
 
Harold was born August 15, 1931 in Altoona, PA, a son of Oliver James and Dorothy Sellers Blackburn Heacock. He married Maurita Gilmore September 11, 1954 in Ellsworth, IL. She passed away on November 21, 1975. He married Evalena “Evie” Pool Ritchie August 2, 1980 in Clinton. She survives.
 
Surviving are two sons with Maurita Gilmore, Daniel L. (Suella) Heacock of Pleasant Plains, IL and Lawrence A. (Tami) Heacock of Farmer City, IL; two stepsons, Brian D. (Joanne) Ritchie of Heyworth, IL and Daniel L. (Melissa) Ritchie of Cary, IL; two stepdaughters, Pamela S. Landstrom of Normal, IL and Stacy L. (Pat) Sheridan of Normal, IL; eight step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Price of Lancaster, PA; several nieces and nephews.
 
Harold was an Army veteran. He graduated from Earlham College in 1953. Farming was his work and his hobby. His passion was bailing hay, tending livestock and attending farm sales. In his younger years when not on the farm Harold enjoyed snow skiing and dancing. Harold was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and devoted friend who never met a stranger.
