Virgil "Llew" Hoffman

Virgil “Llew” Hoffman, 83 of Clinton, IL, passed away 10:42 A.M. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his family home in Clinton, IL.
 
Services will be 11 AM, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Rev. C. Don Ferrill and Rev. Stephen Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
 
Memorials may be directed to the Clinton Presbyterian Church or the Diabetes Association.
 
Llew was born September 8, 1933 in Clinton, IL the son of William A. and Nellie (Poole) Hoffman. He married Arlene Case July 3, 1957 in Clinton, IL.
 
Survivors include his wife: Arlene Hoffman, Clinton, IL; children: Lew (Sheila) Hoffman, Brighton, TN; Barbara (Jack) Duggins, and Sandy (Bill) Barretts, both of Clinton, IL; five grandchildren: Todd Schoch, Tracie (David) Alwood, Billy Barretts, Brooke (Eric) Wilson, and Casey Barretts; three great- grandchildren: Macie Heuerman, Mylie Alwood, and Jaxon Wilson; siblings: Faye Kaufman, Maroa, IL; Edward (Evelyn) Hoffman, LaPlace, IL; and Gene Hoffman, Clinton, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
 
Llew was a member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church and the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was employed for 24 years at Wallace Business Forms and ten years at the City of Clinton City Hall. He and Arlene liked wintering in Florida. Llew enjoyed farming, family vacations, and wood crafting.
