Judith Anne Coogan

Judith Anne Coogan, 78, of Lincoln, passed away at 8:41 a.m. Thursday (July 13, 2017) at her home.
 
Judith was born Sept. 16, 1938, in Lincoln, the daughter of Paul Sr. and Mildred Blaum Beaver. She married Judge David Coogan on June 12, 1971, in Lincoln; he survives.
 
Judith is also survived by her brothers, Paul (Sue) Beaver and John (Kathy) Beaver, both of Lincoln; nieces, Ann (Ron Wolpert) Beaver Witting and Amy (John) O’Donnell; nephews, Frederick (Amy) Blanford, Brian (Christine) Beaver and Brad (Michele) Beaver; great-nieces, Hannah Witting; Kyleigh Snavely; Lauren O’Donnell; Caitlin Beaver; and Camille, Abigal and Claudia Blanford; and great-nephews, Ethan Witting, Kevin O’Donnell, Corey Beaver and Brandon Beaver.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister.
 
Judith retired from Chester-East Lincoln and Northwest schools after teaching there for 35 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, DAR and the Logan/Dewitt Retired Teachers Association. She was truly devoted to all of her nieces and nephews.
 
Services for Judith will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, with Father Simon Taabu officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorial donations may be made in Judith’s name to Logan County 4-H Foundation or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation.
