Betty Louise Williamson, 93, of LeRoy, Illinois, formerly of Downs, Illinois, passed away at 3:07 P.M., Sunday, July 9, 2017 at LeRoy Manor, LeRoy, Illinois.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 14, 2017 at Hopewell Cemetery, Downs, Illinois.  Memorial donations may be made to the Downs United Methodist Church.

 

Betty was born February 16, 1924 in Downs, Illinois, a daughter of James "Andy" Adam and Jewell Marie Clark Waybright.  She married Millard Elmo "Smitty" Williamson on June 8, 1947 in Downs, Illinois.  He preceded her in death, March 15, 2006.

 

She is survived by one brother-in-law, Ivan "Tide" Williamson, sister-in-law, Viola Williamson and many nieces and nephews.

 

Betty graduated from Downs Community High School in 1943.  She was a member of the Downs United Methodist Church.  When she was younger she worked for the elders of Downs and her Aunt and Uncle's restaurant.  She then went to work for State Farm where she worked for 42 and a half years retiring on February 16, 1986.  She started at State Farm as a skater who delivered the mail on her floor and to Mr. G. J. Mecherle.

 

Betty was a loving wife, aunt, and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
