Margaret Murphy

Margaret Ella Murphy, 91, of Clinton, passed away at 9:07 p.m. Sunday (July 2, 2017) at Manor Court, Clinton.
 
Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
 
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Second Chance Pet Adoption.
 
Margaret was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Wilson Township, DeWitt County, the daughter of Pleasant and Nora Bell Bray. She married Paul Murphy in 1943. He passed away in 1972.
 
Survivors include her grandchildren, Paul D. (Beverly) Murphy, Clinton, and Jodi (Josh) Turney, Clinton; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Cali) Murphy, Pekin; Brett Murphy, Rochelle; Wynn Turney, Clinton; and Payne Turney, Clinton; sister, Della Cooper, Clinton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul Eugene Murphy; three brothers and three sisters.
 
Margaret retired from the ASCS office, Clinton. She was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton, and the Eagles Lodge in Bloomington. Margaret worked part time at the Clinton Antique Mall and DeWitt County Building. She liked exercising at Curves and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
